Born in Basel, Switzerland where he turned professional in 1998, Roger Federer is arguably one the best tennis players in the entire world. No tennis player in the history of the game has left as much of an impact as Federer’s record breaking position at No. 1 for 237 consecutive weeks. Currently, he is ranked No. 3 and has won 19 Grand Slam singles titles- the most in history. No doubt, his list of titles is long. It includes a record eight Wimbledon titles, five Australian Opens, a record five consecutive US Open titles, and one French Open title. With that many championships and records set it’s no wonder that many professionals and analysts consider Federer one of the greatest tennis player to ever live. Roger Federer now lives with his wife Mirka Federer, who’s a former professional tennis player, and their four children, twin girls and twin boys. Perhaps a few doubles matches are in their future! He continues to play professionally and in 2003 he established the Roger Federer Foundation to help assist disadvantaged children and to promote their access to sports and education.
