Summer Gear Round Up – Dress Like The Tennis Stars
Summer is officially here, and all the brands have all new outfits and shoes for both men and women. As usual, you can see all of them on display during the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. All the big brands have something for everyone. The best part is that all your favorite players are sporting these new outfits for your window-shopping pleasure.
Let’s get started!
This is a favorite brand of mine, and one which I tend to gravitate to. This year you could see top players like Tsitsipas and Muguruza wearing an interesting white pattern on black. This pattern was inspired by the botanical gardens that surround Roland Garros. The good news is that as we head to Wimbledon, these clay court season styles are on sale!
As many know, Wimbledon requires all white on their lawn. It is because of this that Adidas is now promoting the London Parley Tennis Collection, which consists mainly of elegant white polos for men and elegant white skirts for women.
For shoes, Adidas has two great choices, the Barricade or the Ubersonic 4. I have owned both these shoes and have loved both. The Barricade is Felix Auger-Alliasime’s and Maria Sakkari’s shoe of choice. The Ubersonic 4 is Alex Zverev’s shoe of choice.
While I tend to gravitate to Adidas for both apparel and shoes, I also have Nike gear and I love it. This summer Nike had something special for the whole clay court season. Their Nike Paris Collection consisted of pastel tones and modern silhouettes. You’ll see some of our favorite players wearing these cool Nike outfits this summer, such as Andrey Rublev and Carlos Alcaraz.
That’s not all from Nike though. For all those Rafa fans out there, you can get his specially designed kit with his signature bull on the right of the chest.
As far as shoes, I think there’s only one way to go with Nike, and that’s the Air Zoom Vapor Pro for both women and men. If they are good enough for Nick Kyrgios, they should be good enough for you.
It can’t always be Adidas and Nike. The following three brands should also be on your radar.
Asics has been traditionally associated with running, and they make great apparel and shoes for
that sport. However, for tennis they have also come a long way. I have owned plenty of Asics tennis shoes and can attest to their quality and durability on the court. It’s not for nothing that the number one women’s player, Iga Swiatek, has chosen Asics as her official apparel and shoe.
New balance is another great brand that is more known for running. Just like Asics, it has proven itself on tennis courts around the world. And while Asics has Iga Swiatek sporting their tennis wear, New Balance has rising star Coco Gauff on the books. Check out their colorful collection.
Finally, there’s Fila, the iconic brand that Bjorn Borg made famous in the 70s. From John Isner to, Fila is a tennis icon and is still very popular among the pros. On any given day, you can find a multitude of touring pros wearing Fila. The best thing about the brand is the actual logo. I hope you agree! Either way, check out their summer collection at Tennis Warehouse. There’s something for everyone. I tend to go for their retro styles. Have fun shopping!
