Our Open Letter to Nick Kyrgios – Come Back!

Dear Nick,

Tennis needs you. We realize you have all these talents off the tennis court.

Most recently you’ve proven yourself to be an insightful and entertaining tennis commentator, talk show host, and many other things. All that is fine and great, and we’d love you to keep doing that. However, we also really miss you on the tennis court. Your passion, shot-making, once-in-a-generation serve, and tweener production is the reasons you have millions of fans around the world. Even your pro peers consistently tell you that they miss you. So, what’s the holdup, Nick? Let’s get back on the tennis court.

Right now, is the perfect time for you to come back. Djokovic and Nadal won’t be around much longer as they are now in their late 30s and can’t possibly keep winning everything indefinitely. Also, I probably don’t need to remind you that you have an overall winning record against the current top ten. That puts you right in the mix for the next 3-5 years. The lack of time on the court between COVID-19 and your current injury also means that you are probably not a 28-year-old, but more like a 24-year-old.

So, what do you say? Come back soon? Indian Wells would be perfect. The weather is nice, America loves you, and the crowds will be 100% behind you. You’ve also now won the hearts of all tennis commentators, so there’s going to be nothing but love for you in and outside the commentating booth. What’s not to love about any of that?

Here’s what I propose as a possible tennis schedule for your 2024 comeback.

  • Indian Wells
  • Miami Open
  • Stuttgart
  • Halle
  • Mallorca
  • Wimbledon
  • Atlanta
  • Washington D.C.
  • Canada
  • Cincinnati
  • US Open
  • Tokyo

I think this is a very generous schedule for you and gives you the best possible preparation to make some noise at both Wimbledon and the US Open.

Feel free to call us for some more scheduling and life advice in general. We’re here for you Nick!
